Verity Health Websites

Summary

Designed, developed, and operated 14 websites for Verity Health System, serving over eight thousand employees and tens of thousands of patients. Six hospitals, four practices, a charitable foundation, and intranet site were amongst the websites I developed and operated for Verity Health.

Process

Gathering requirements

Met with stakeholders and users to determine opportunities for improvement of the old websites

Ideation and Prototyping

Sketched, prototyped, and tested ideas to decide on a design direction

Development

Implemented many individual pages across hospital sites, created a PHP system for displaying news, created a secure form system for referrals, implemented a secure system for adding and removing articles, and implemented a variety of other systems.

Refinement

Set up email address for all feedback related to websites, coordinated with IT to add a ticket type for website related inquiries, set up an anonymous user survey that is easy to access, and made many improvements based on the feedback from users

FusionFX Patient and Provider Portals

Summary

Designed, prototyped, and conducted usability testing of Patient portal, Provider portal, and Care Coordination web applications at NantHealth.

Process

Gathering requirements

Met with product managers and clients to understand their needs/goals

Ideation and Research

Sketched layout and workflow ideas, researched representative users, and researched existing patient portal designs to get an understanding of what users expect from modern patient portal systems

Prototyping

Created interactive web prototypes of the Health Notebook patient portal and provider portal systems to present to the team and test with representative users

Refinement

Made many improvements in response to user feedback to prototypes and established anonymous user surveys in order to quickly learn about and correct usability issues in the final product

Mobile Patient Portal

Summary

Designed, prototyped and usability tested a mobile application to enable patients to access data critical to their health and communicate with their providers. Users could visualize home health monitoring data, view lab results, request appointments and more through the application.

Sketched, prototyped, and tested ideas with test users to focus the design direction

Worked with developers to make sure the look and feel of the final app conformed to our specifications, and interviewed users after the application was implemented to understand what could be improved.
